This display is part of the British Engagements series designed to celebrate the opening of the Ridgway University Center as well as Dr. Ridgway's gift of Harlaxton Manor. Art, music, theatre, lectures, exhibits, and discussions highlighting our British connections will continue throughout the semester. 2 New Photo Websites

FreeLargePhotos has a catalog of over 2,600 high-resolution pictures of famous places and landscapes. The site’s developer and manager, Roy Tennant of Sonoma, Calif., said, “the photos are free to individuals for personal use, but if they are used on a web site a photo credit and a link to the web site are required.”

Freeze Frame contains over 20,000 images from 1845-1960, capturing the Golden Era of Polar Exploration. Here is a picture from the 1921-22 Shackleton-Rowett Antarctic Expedition. It is accessible through the Scott Polar Research Institute. Freeze Frame provides information on how images can be purchased.
