What UEL Can Do 4U: SocINDEX with Full Text


Do you need to identify an article describing maternal favoritism by Professor Mari Plikuhn? Do you need materials on violence in schools, specifically school shootings? Are you interested in securing articles on poetry therapy by Dr. Michelle Blake? Search SocINDEX with Full Text for any of these resources.

SocINDEX offers comprehensive coverage of sociology, encompassing all sub-disciplines and closely related areas of study. These areas include abortion, criminology & criminal justice, demography, ethnic & racial studies, gender studies, marriage & family, political sociology, religion, rural & urban sociology, social development, social psychology, social structure, social work, socio-cultural anthropology, sociological history, sociological research, sociological theory, substance abuse & other addictions, violence and as well as many others.

This database provides:
  • full text for 890 journals dating back to 1908, full text for more than 850 books and monographs, and full text for over 16,800 conference papers,
  • more than 2.1 million records with subject headings from a 20,000+ term sociological thesaurus,
  • abstracts for more than 1,300 "core" coverage journals dating from1895,
  • data mined from more than 450 "priority" coverage journals as well as from over 2,900 "selective" coverage journals,
  • extensive indexing for books, conference papers, and other non-periodical content sources, and
  • over 25,000 author profiles.

Europa World Online

Are you looking for background information and statistics about Iran?  What about the recent economic situation in Greece?  Infant mortality in an African country?  Answers to these questions can be found in Europa World Online

Europa provides updated coverage of world facts and figures.  Easily navigated, Europa has a range of choices from simply selecting a country from the drop-down menu to an advanced search option that allows textual search among others.  It also allows researchers to perform side-by-side comparisons of nations’ statistics.  Users can find information on organizations ranging from newspapers to government agencies around the globe.  Along with each entry are citation guides for Europa and. More importantly, links to other resources where available, sometimes references to specific government reports or contact and email links to government agencies or persons of note.

What UEL Can Do 4U: Music Index



Are you curious about book reviews completed by Professors Dallinger, Zifer, or Ungar?  Do you need the article written by Dr Wylie on music and special learners or the article analyzing a song cycle by Dr Rike?  If you need information about William Albright or Antal Dorati the articles authored by Doug Reed and Elizabeth Robertson will be useful to you.  Citations for all of these items can be found in the Music Index

Music Index is a comprehensive guide to music periodicals and literature featuring digitized content from 1970 to present. This database contains cover-to-cover indexing and abstracts of articles about music, musicians, and the music industry for more than 480 periodicals, as well as book reviews, obituaries, news, and selective coverage for more than 200 periodicals.
